From 26th to 30th June 2023 we organised 22nd European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI) conference in Wrocław. Like for the last 40 years of ECMI conferences, it was a great opportunity to exchange ideas at the frontier of contemporary mathematical modelling and its industrial applications.

The conference events included Alan Tayler Memorial Lecture presented by Ron S. Kenett (Technion, Israel), minisymposia, contributed talks, and plenary lectures given by Ruth Baker, Dirk Hartmann, Uwe Iben, Irena Lasiecka, Henrik Madsen, Mathilde Mougeot, Claudia Schillings and Rafał Weron. The Anile-ECMI Prize for Mathematics in Industry and Hansjörg Wacker Memorial Prize was given at the Award Ceremony during the opening of the conference.

On Thursday, 29 June, we had Industry Day, during which industry representatives will talk about how they apply modern mathematical tools in their companies. The speakers come from KGHM (Polish company, a major copper and silver producer in the world, also the main sponsor of the conference), BNY Mellon, Nokia, Santander, Satrev, Saule Technologies and Sun Cable, At the end of this day we organised an expert panel discussion on the future of industrial and applied mathematics.

Over all we had 9 plenary lectures, 183 talks in 25 minisymposia, 56 contributed talks, 8 industry talks and one panel discussion. We would like to sincerely thank the participants! Among the 300 of our guests the biggest group was from Poland, but all of the Europe was well represented. More details are available at the conference webpage.
